Transportation Freight Brokerage Executive - Phoenix

R+ L Truckload Services is a non asset-based third party logistics provider that has experienced an explosive growth of over 200% since 2009. We are actively seeking an Account Executive with transportation, logistics, and freight brokerage experience to join our team in our Phoenix, AZ Branch. The Account Executive will position themselves between the shipper and the carrier in order to move product from its origination point to the final destination in a professional, timely, and accurate fashion.  The Account Executive position requires both a sales and an operational piece within a third party logistics environment, specific to freight via full truckload. 


Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The ability to generate new sales revenue independently and for your branch
  • Through research and networking strategies be able to identify potential customers
  • Develop an entrance strategy for cold calling, qualifying, and effectively connecting with prospective business partners
  • Create and drive your own sales plan strategy that successfully meets monthly sales goals and initiatives
  • Management of existing business accounts and continuously building customer rapport
  • The ability to utilize our internal tools to negotiate market freight rates for the customer
  • Knowledgeable in proposing freight quotes within a full truckload environment that will generate the best margin for both the customer and our organization
  • Hold specific knowledge in regards to truckload compatibility and shipping requirements
  • Precise determination of delivery and weather related conditions in order to minimize any delays with our services
  • Consistently oversee the freight from origination to destination and take responsibility for any occurrences while solving them both constructively and timely
  • The ability to dispatch trucks, update orders and load screens while also properly closing orders timely through our carrier system
  • Exude the highest level of customer service to both your internal and external business partners, and set the expectations that the task given will be completed to their satisfaction
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the company's specialty services, internal resources, competitive strategies, and customer requirements

The ability to work independently while supporting an overall team mentality

The ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities

Have a keen eye and display excellent attention to detail       

An analytical approach to logistics planning that creative problem solves challenges

The ability to effectively negotiate with customers in regards to market freight rates

To be an effective communicator via telephone and electronic communication

To be able to make timely decisions in a complex environment under pressure

Exude a competitive nature and a desire to surpass existing goals

Results oriented with the drive to want to grow within the organization

Required Experience:

Prefer two years in a full truckload environment including expedited, flatbed, and oversized loads, with a keen understanding of overall freight movement

Prefer previous experience in a sales/business development environment

Prefer a working knowledge of freight brokerage within a third party logistics company
